Our club Lotto draw was set up ten years ago with the express aim of raising funds towards capital expenditure in the club. At that time Paul Garrett was the driving force behind the project and it is to his credit that this valuable revenue stream has stood the test of time. Life of course is a cycle and now Paul finds himself back in charge of our Lotto draw!

The draw is based on teams of ticket sellers who never seem to tire of pushing tickets every two weeks. David Slattery and Joe Winston are among our star performers in this regard. Tickets are also available from various businesses throughout the town. The Lotto draw takes place every two weeks so people can avail of 26 draws in any given year. Technology has caught up with us and now gives you the advantage of downloading a form whereby you can enter the draw for the complete year.

It is an unusual draw in that it takes place in various pubs in Clonmel, thereby giving us the chance to sell a few more tickets on the night, meet our supporters and in turn support the pubs that have supported us over the years. You can see our next draw location below. On a draw night, the usual stalwarts like Jimmy Harney, Paddy Fitzgerald, Ned Nugent, Mick Hoyne and Paul Lonergan (supervised by Kevin Cronin!) go through a meticulous process of checking and cross-checking the tickets so that all is in order. Some unfortunate bystander is then asked to pick four numbers, between 1 and 24, from the drum.

When the four numbers are picked the real cross-checking begins. There is usually a sigh of relief if there is no outright winner as it keeps the prize money at a very attractive level and helps sell tickets! Those who have supported us over the years would probably buy a ticket anyway and the club is really grateful for their allegiance over that period. The club Lotto has raised significant funds over the years and that money has been wisely used in turning Clonmel RFC into one of the finest club facilities in Munster .
