Hugh Reaction to TagRugby Festival!

It is probably a reaction to the national popularity of Tag Rugby (over 700 teams already registered for the Dublin leagues) because there is a terrific buzz out there concerning the upcoming Tag Rugby Festival, sponsored by Eldon's, which will be run at Clonmel Rugby Club every Thursday evening from June 2 nd to July 7 th

Numerous businesses in Clonmel have entered teams (it is rumoured that Guidant may have up to ten teams!) and enquiries have been received from far and wide, so get your team organised now if you want to be in by the closing date of Wednsday 25 th May. Completed entry forms should be handed into Eldons by 9 p.m. on that date . The draw for the tournament will be made live at the Big Launch in Eldons on Thursday 26 th May.

There have been sightings already of teams training ( Flancare have designs on being the first winners of this tournament!) up on the rugby pitch. While it is a very simple game - remember, there is no physical contact whatsoever – it is recommended that your team get familiar with the rules and handling the ball before you start. The rugby club's Tag Rugby committee will be happy to give instruction to any team who wants it over the next two weeks.

All teams are guaranteed four or five games and there will be a variety of prizes to cover the winners, best dressed team, best female player, best beginner, etc. Look out for details of barbecues as we go through the tournament.
